Spider Woman Rock stands more than 800 feet tall in Canyon de Chelly. This canyon and its tributary canyons are rich in Navajo history. The Navajo believe that Spider Woman lived on top of this rock spire and taught the Navajo how to weave. It's interesting to note that the spruce trees at the base of this spire are actually entangled with many webs.
