This image seems to catch the eye with the encrusted rock. The eye then wanders down and left to the mixture of light and dark sands and the patterns made of them by the tide. Finally, the eye travels up and right to the reflections of the trees in the wet sand. The perspective of this photo is somewhat askew as well, as if it were taken falling sideways. The adaptability of shore creatures is amazing; these mussels, barnacles, or other shelled fish must live in the atmosphere when the tides out and underwater when the tides in.
